Many people carry experiences and emotions from the past that feel stuck in the body, mind, or nervous system. I work with an integrated approach that combines Brainspotting, EMDR techniques, EFt tapping and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you heal safely and deeply.
This approach is gentle, flexible, and tailored to your nervous system — not one-size-fits-all.
Integrating Brainspotting, EMDR Techniques, EFT tapping, Polyvagal Theory and IFS
Some trauma is stored in memory. Some is stored in the body. Some trauma lives in parts of you that feel young, fearful, or protective. My work integrates multiple powerful modalities:
1. Brainspotting: Accessing Trauma Held in the Body
Brainspotting helps you locate where trauma is stored in your nervous system. Using a gentle focus and attuned guidance, we can access emotions and sensations that words alone cannot reach. This allows your nervous system to process experiences in a safe and contained way.
2. EMDR Techniques
I use the principles of EMDR — bilateral stimulation and focused attention on distressing memories — without following a rigid, protocols. This allows us to work flexibly and intuitively, responding to what your body and parts need in the moment, rather than forcing a set sequence.
3. Internal Family Systems (IFS): Healing Your Inner Parts
IFS helps us understand and work with the different parts of you that may hold fear, shame, anger, or protect you in ways that are no longer helpful. We can dialogue with these parts, helping them feel heard and safe, and gradually integrate them so your mind and body can relax.
4. EFT tapping and visualisation
EFT tapping calms the nervous system via tapping on accupressure points, I use this technique to calm a ground primarily.
5. Polyvagal Theory
The concepts of Polyvagal theory underpin much of what I do.
6. Somatic grounding techniques
I use various somatic techniques to help ground, stabilise and also connect with emotions in their body in a safe way.
Why This Approach Works
Somatic depth: Brainspotting reaches trauma stored in the body.
Flexible processing: EMDR techniques help process memories without overwhelming you.
Parts-based healing: IFS ensures all parts of you feel safe and understood.
Tailored pace: Sessions are guided by your nervous system, your readiness, and your inner experience.
Long-term regulation: By working with body, mind, and parts together, you develop lasting emotional and physiological resilience.
What Sessions Are Like
We start wherever you feel safe and present — no need to retell everything at once.
We track sensations, emotions, and thoughts together, allowing your nervous system to guide the work.
You interact with your inner parts through IFS, while Brainspotting or EMDR techniques help release stuck energy.
You control the pace — nothing is forced or rushed.
The goal is integration, not just temporary relief.
